6 Weeks & Thanksgiving

I can't believe our little girl is already 6 weeks old!! It's crazy how big she is and how fast she is growing. I had bought a dress for Thanksgiving in size 3 months and was worried that it would be too big. However, it ended up fitting just barely and the tights were too small!! It was so great spending Turkey Day with family and introducing our little munchkin!! We went to Cadott first and had a Thanksgiving lunch with Dad, Colette and her family. Then we headed to Matt's parents' for a Thanksgiving lunch. It was a long day with lots of travel and love. This weekend Grandma Grandt is coming to visit!! We are planning on putting up the Christmas tree. I can't wait to see Charlotte's face light up seeing all the lights!! It's going to be a great Holiday season!!

Jen Ruby-Durst at Ruby Photography out did herself once again. She is an amazing photographer and I'm so grateful for her patience. She came when Charlotte was 5 days old. Needless to say, we were unprepared! We didn't have a real schedule down with her yet and she woke up screaming at us!! Jen was able to snap a couple pictures but thankfully she returned the following weekend when Charlotte was 11 days old. We were very lucky, she slept through pretty much the entire session waking once to eat and show Jen her awesome "poop face"! Enjoy!!

Weekend Adventures

It was a beautiful weekend and probably the last 50 degree weather we'll have so we got bundled up and went for a nice walk. It was Charlotte's first time in the stroller. She didn't fuss a bit...well, until the end of the walk when she was getting hungry and eating her hand and hood! It was semi warm and sunny. The dogs were happy as well to get out of the house for a while. We had two giant eagles in the backyard on Sunday morning. They were amazing! I can't wait till Charlotte is big and old enough to see them and know what they are. So regal.

Charlotte is all smiles lately. You can't help but feel warmth and put a big smile on your face when she lights up. This week is "Girl's Week"!! I'm super excited....my best friend Krista is coming to visit for 3 days and then another great friend of mine, Velma, is coming up for the weekend. Charlotte will definitely have a good time with these two wonderful ladies!! I'm working on posting some videos of our little jabber jaw, however my camera won't charge so I'm working on getting that fixed.

One Month Old

I can't believe how the time is flying by. Our baby girl is one month old today!! She is growing so fast and doing so much! Everyday is something new with her. I'm so thankful to have the time home to watch her learn new things. This past week has been a week of many firsts!!
Charlotte is doing really good at picking her head up!! If you're holding her, she lifts it for about 20 minutes and just smiles and looks around at everything. On the floor, she is really good at lifting and turning from side to side.
She's loves being read to. We started Twilight last week and are already on the second book! She sits there so quiet and focused, listening to your voice. The minute you stop reading she starts yelling! It's hilarious all the sounds she makes (videos to come soon!). She is just a jabber jaw.
Charlotte had her first playdate this week! Cole Goerg and his mom Tanya came to visit!! They both just watched eachother very carefully.....and Cole was so gentle shaking the rattle for her and making her smile.
Matt and I had our first night out....without Charlotte! We went to a friend's wedding while Grandma LeClair babysat. At first it was rough....I didn't want to leave her. The first couple hours I kept asking Matt if we she call and check on her but he told me to relax and that they have our number if they need us. After about 3 hours, I calmed down and we really enjoyed ourselves. It was some much needed adult time for us.
And the BIG news of the week:
SNOW!!

We had our first snow yesterday and Charlotte got her first taste! I thought she might fuss with the cold and wet but she loved it! She was eating the snowflakes up left and right!! She is sitting (assisted) so good now. She really enjoys being upright. She laughs at the dogs as they run around and roll in the snow . She's going to be our little snow bunny. Can't wait to get her a pair of ice skates when she's older for the lake! Her snow suit is a little big yet but that's just fine, there is plenty of winter in Wisconsin and she will grow into it, probably faster than one would think!
Play time!

First Bath in her Big Girl Tub!

Last night before bed time we took a bath! It was Charlotte's first bath in her big girl tub. I wasn't too sure she would cooperate seeing as how up till now we were doing sponge baths and she just hated them! Surprisingly though she did GREAT! She didn't cry or fuss at all. She loved it, even cracked a few smiles here and there.  When she gets a bigger and is sitting on her own, we can put the bubble maker and sprayer on!
