Happy Halloween!!!!

Miss Charlotte is smiling all the time now!! This is the closest I've gotten to a picture of it. As soon as she sees the camera in my hand, she gives me that look like "Oh Mom....quit it all ready!"

Drake and her are bonding quite well.....until she gets more mobile and starts chasing him! And yes, Drake is wearing the cone of shame.....

There is nothing better than snuggling with my little girl after a long morning of playing! She's my little cuddle bug!

The surprise of the week: Charlotte almost completely rolled over!!! She is exactly 3 weeks old today and already is attempting to roll over. She gets this far and then flops onto her back. Pretty soon!

Tanner is very watchful of her. He makes sure Drake isn't all up in her face 24/7! Everytime she coos or cries, both of the boys are right there to make sure she's all right. At night when I rock her to sleep, Tanner lays at my feet til she is out cold. Can't wait to see how they react when she's on the move!!

Week 3 in Pictures

Excuse the bad picture quality, they were taken with my cellphone.

I'm bias......she's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen.

Grandma Grandt got her a new playmat!! She's not too sure about it yet. She's tries to reach for the toys but her depth perception is a little off yet.

My little cupcake!!

She's so quiet and content.

Charlotte is a HUGE Packer fan. GO PACK GO!!

This is what we like to call "the Luge". She lays so still and straight, she's going to be in the Olympics!

2 Week Old Doctor Visit

Little Charlotte had her second doctor's appointment today. It was early this morning and cold out so we bundled her up in her car seat and away we went. I am surprised how well she does.....she LOVES riding in the car. She just looks around at all the new sights and sounds..then usually falls asleep.
Her appointment went great! She is in the 75th percentile for her height, weight and head size.....which means she is extremely proportionate for her age! She weights 9lbs, 2 ounces and is still 21 inches long. Her head circumference is 14 5/8 inches. The jaundice around her eyes is completely gone and she lost the rest of the umbilical cord today. Doctor asked if I wanted to keep it....I passed. (Nasty). She doesn't have another appointment until she's two months old. I'm so excited to watch her grow during that time.

First Doctors Appointment

Charlotte had her first doctors appointment today. When we took her home on Thursday (10/13) she weighed 8lbs, 6.5 ounces which was down from her birth weight. Today, she is back to her birth weight at 8lbs, 11ounces. She is healthy and doing great! She still has a little yellowing in her face from jaundice but nothing to be concerned about. She is sleeping about 3 hours in between feedings which is good however the doctor suggested we extend it out to 4 hours in between slowly. I look at her and still have no idea how that big, beautiful baby was inside me and came out. She is my little chunker. We have so many newborn clothes that she won't even get to wear because she is such a healthy (big) baby!!

Charlotte Rae Arrives...

Charlotte Rae was born on Monday, October 10th, 2011 at 8:26pm weighing in at 8 pounds, 11.8 ounces and 21 inches long. We woke up at 1:30am with severe contractions and a fever of 102. We continued to monitor it until about 5am when I started getting sick. We called the hospital and headed in. Since I was 4 days overdue, they decided to admit us and prepare for delivery. I pushed for 3 hours and the C-section team was called in. However, by the time they were ready, she was so low that they would have had to push her back up to do a c-section. It was determined that I would have to push a little  longer. Dr. Bentley used the vacuum on her and with in another half hour, Baby Charlotte graced us with her presence.

We ended up staying a total of 4 days in the hospital. I had lost so much blood and am anemic so I had to have a blood transfusion. Once that was done I was feeling much better however Charlotte had jaundice. It wasn't bad enough for treatment but her doctor wanted to keep an eye on it. We had to stay an extra night and that morning they tested her again and she was much better. We got to go home Thursday late morning and are enjoying every moment of being a family of 3 (5 if you count our 2 lovable dogs). Both Charlotte and I are healthy and happy.

Matt and I are enjoying every minute of being parents and look forward to watching our beautiful daughter grow. We get to know each other more and more every day.  She is a true blessing and miracle.

Passing time til she arrives.......

Seeing as how our little stubborn princess has yet to arrive, I've decided to pass the time making hair clips and headbands for her. I saw these online and thought they would be great for her newborn/baby pictures. Instead of buying them, I was pretty confident I could make them myself. Couple of hours dismembering fake flowers, hot gluing and 2 burns later........I had a finished product. Granted they are not as GREAT as the ones online but I was pretty proud of myself! Can't wait to make more and use them for her pictures!!
