Zoo Day with Grandma Grandt

 

Yesterday Grandma Grandt was in town and we decided to spend the day at the zoo. We went to Wildwood Wildlife Park in Minocqua. Charlotte had such a great time. Last time we went she was only almost 5 months old and this time she was way more curious and excited about seeing and petting the animals. They have a sign to see if you're as tall as a llama.....it said she was 2 feet however I think the board was off...she's nearly 30 inches tall!

 

We saw a pig just like at Grandma Grandt's house!!

 

She loved petting the large bunnies.

 

The goat tried to eat her shirt....she wasn't too happy about that.

 

Then it came up and apologized by kissing her hand...that made her giggle.

 

 

She really enjoyed petting the deer and feeding them.

 

 

And the peacocks were everywhere! Caged and just running around with all the people. She kept pointing at the albino peacock as it was on full display for the females. They were so loud too! She would try to make her funny Ewok sound and be louder than them. It was so cute and funny.

 

She wasn't quite sure what to make of the 3 large bears. 

 

Thank goodness she was strapped into her stroller, she kept trying to feed the little deer her fingers!

 

Hands down her favorite were the Capuchin Monkeys just like in her favorite movie, RIO. She got so excited seeing them. She tried to pet them through the glass. She kept looking back and forth from me to them with a huge smile on her face and jabbering a mile a minute!

 

She didn't care too much for the goats but I though just maybe she would like the little baby goats!

 

She did at first and then it yelled at her for pulling it's ear too hard. I think that scared her a little bit. She is use to pulling and tugging on Drake who lets her do anything.

 

All in all it was an amazing day! After the zoo we went to lunch at the Thirsty Whale. I am so thankful my mom could come up and spend a nice day with Charlotte and me.

 

 

 

 

8 Month Checkup

Charlotte had her 8 Month check up this morning with Dr. Nick! She is doing so well. She is 29 5/8 inches tall which is off the charts!! She is so tall. I think she got Mommy's long legs and Daddy's long torso! She is 19lbs, 7 ounces which is in the 75th percentile. Dr. Nick said she is extremely proportionate! Her head circumference 17 3/4 inches. She also has 8 teeth!! Four on top and four on the bottom. Matt says she is ready for a giant venison steak.....I think not. LOL  She is growing so fast!! I'm so glad she just had a doctor's visit and not any shots. Those are no fun. Can't wait to see how she measures up at her 10 month check up!!

8 Months Old

Our Baby girl is getting older and growing so fast! It's amazing what she has accomplished in a month. I remember being so excited just to see her roll over and now she can sit up by herself, stand up by herself and can walk holding on to a stead surface! She's talking more and more every day. She even starts forming some words.....of course when she's tired and whining it's momma. She is such a Momma's girl. I can't do anything with out her......she is attached to my hip. If I walk out of the room she cries til I come back. She always snuggles up to me. Matt says, " Like Mother like Daughter." I am a total Momma's girl too. She is my everything and I will hate the day she is no longer my baby.

Peek a boo!! Every morning I walk into her room and she sits there making the cutest faces.

 

She can almost touch the ground. She can push herself backwards but not forwards yet.

Such a big girl sitting in the high chair and drinking out of her sippy cup. She actually chews on it more than drinks from it. She is such a good eater. She has fruit/oatmeal for breakfast, a veggie for lunch and her favorite dinner is either Turkey and sweet potatoes or mac n cheese! And of course she always gets fruit for dessert. She now has snacks in the afternoon at daycare too! She has puffs or yogurt bites with some juice.

She learned to clap and for three days straight that is all she would do and now, you can't get her to clap no matter how hard you try! Silly girl.

 

Checking out the beach. She was unsure at first. She would stand with one foot in the air and look at me like what the heck is going on. Now she loves walking the beach and splashing about. She especially loves when the boys (our dogs) run in the water back and forth and get everyone wet. (And no, I didn't plan the matching outfits, in fact, I just noticed them!)

Look at all those teeth!! She has 7 teeth! Almost one for each month. She's been drooling alot lately too so I'm sure there are more on the way!

It was Zoo week at Daycare and Charlotte was a Monkey!!

She got a new pair of big girl shoes! I figured if she's going to be on her feet and standing/walking around, she is going to have to learn to have shoes on. I though she would fuss but of course, she's an angel and she loved her shoes!

She had ice cream at Grandma & Grandpa LeClair's house and it was ICE COLD!! She loved it once it warmed up. LOL

She is growing faster and faster. I can't believe how fast it all goes by. We have so many fun events planned for this summer that I'm sure it will go by even faster!
